I enjoy teaching Advocates to be the best that they can be in their roles.

It is truly an honor to be able to listen to their vulnerabilities. I take that it is scary and these advocates trust me with that.

From the get go I accompany the Advocate to the foster parents home and child protective services. It is hard work but they don’t have to go it alone.

You have to love the children that you are working with and care about their well being. All of the complications in the case become easier and you have the strength to deal with the bureaucracy.

Child Advocates need to have a genuine curiosity about helping others. In the beginning no one knows this system. The person who cares about the kids is really curious about the process. When you are curious you keep asking questions and you figure out how to get over the barriers. Then you start to help.

Most importantly advocating for a child helps you grow as a person.
